CUNNINGTON & SANDERSON'S AUTUMN-WINTER 2016/17 COLLECTION

Cunnington & Sanderson's Autumn-Winter 2016/17 collection portrays the connection between people and their homes, the places that by definition contain our present and the memories of our past. Soft silks and warm, comfortable wools and cottons are the fabrics of choice, in a color palette composed of beiges, blues and grays that make the collection feel fresh, calm and serene.

The construction of the garments has an emotional edge: pockets hidden behind sculptural structures, fabric that seems detached and about to fall off. The draping and creative cut is incorporated so as to create new spaces around the body, forming asymmetrical and unpredictable silhouettes. The effect is a feeling of peace, of being at home.

For Cunnington & Sanderson, this collection has a narrative and each individual garment a characteristic symbolism. The details, volumes, structures of the garments and the emotions they express are crucial elements of the brand's identity. As conveyed also by the brushstrokes of paint that add an experimental touch to the pieces in the lookbook.
