Cords and rope for high altitude mountain climbing. Fabric scraps from skydiving jumpsuits or scout uniforms. The inspiration for the SS 2016 collection of fashion designer Giulia Guadagno comes from the world of such adventure-seeking activities.
It's called "Guidebook for surviving in the real world" and is influenced by a multitude of points of view, all different from one another, that were then joined into a series of collages applied to the garments.
The colors and textures of parachutist clothing are applied to the fabric of jackets and skirts. String, twine and harnesses are transformed into functional decorations that evoke images of free and romantic warriors: Native Americans tribes.
Even the make-up speaks the same language of epic battles. Everything is translated through the humor and fresh outlook of someone who is facing the big world out there without delusions of grandeur, but rather color and irony.
