Music is the primary influence for Eugen Laitenberger of Gunee Homme. And then there's painting and illustration. It all mixes together in his creative process: the abstraction of musical pieces is transformed into graphic motifs to then collide with classical paintings and his own drawings. The result: shirts and ties that exude music, highlighted by the art direction of Studio Peripetie.
If first collection "Prelude" was like the introductory track, then collection "Mountain Trip" can be considered the album, with its own complete story. The artistic works that take center stage in the collection are "Wanderer above the Sea of Fog" (1818) by Caspar David Friedrich and Laitenberger's own illustration "Cube Cat".
The latter depicts two cats and two mountains in the background. "I imagined climbing my mountains", Eugen expains, "and wondered what it would look like at the top exposed to the sublime surroundings". Hence the name of the collection, and the mountain of "Cube Cat" becomes the motif of shirt "Mountain Peak".
